Your wedding report lives in my brain for the weeks afterwards in which I'm writing it and often beyond the point at which it's delivered to you, so I suppose it makes sense that my little brain has to give it a sufficient build-up beforehand in order to make sure I make the very most of the time I have with you.

I am the girl who arrives at a wedding by herself, undaunted, smiling at strangers in the knowledge that they will think we are long lost friends by the end of the night. I am the person who small children eye suspiciously whilst old ladies tilt their hats to talk about me without me noticing, unaware that my job is to notice everything.

But you can't quite envisage the whole process and what it'll actually be like, on the wedding day, to have The Wedding Reporter actually attend your wedding.

I have witnessed a lot of love and happiness, a hint of sadness and remorse and a hurricane of laughter. But through it all, I have fallen in love with these couples, with their families and friends who have been nothing but beautiful and wonderful.

The launch of The Wedding Reporter Version 2.0 today comes after a year of one of the most fruitful collaborations I've ever had the pleasure to be part of. Recruiting Leah Spicer to make my words look good has flourished into a partnership that, quite frankly, I'd be lost without. She translates my incoherent thoughts into tangible ideas, never baulks at my more ridiculous suggestions and 'gets' The Wedding Reporter in a way that I was beginning to think impossible.

It took an hour for my lightbulb moment to come to fruition... It's taken a little longer for my business to flourish and now here I am, with a year of being in business tucked under my belt .Every single one of the last 368 days has been a learning curve that I have thoroughly relished. I'd estimate that in the last year I've penned over 60,000 words on weddings alone.
