  • Wedding Report: Victoria & Jon, Part Two

    05 Mar 2013

Victoria bounced of the balls of her feet, her smile stretching ever wider with each word that Jon uttered. Her physical excitement and impatience to be his wife travelled through her body, along her arms and into her fingers as she jiggled Jon’s hands within her own. By the time that Jon had finished speaking, her woodland crown bounced delightfully atop her constantly moving head as she listened greedily to him.

  • Wedding Report: Victoria & Jon, Part One

    04 Mar 2013

Victoria beamed with excitement as she made her entrance, the orchestral music swelling about her. She stood tall and elegant as she passed along the aisle, drinking in the delicious moment in all of its glory. The intricate beading of her silk dress dazzled as she walked, shivering along the contours of her body with each precise step. A wave of gasps pushed forward along each row as people appreciated the delicate bespoke woodland headdress moulded around her cloud of blonde hair. And her face – her glamorous, pretty face – exuded every iota of excitement buzzing around her body as she intently looked at the man waiting at the top of the aisle for her.

  • Wedding Report: Naomi & Graham, Part Three

    22 Feb 2013

Although he was too little to understand the joy with which his parents danced with him in their arms and though he would perhaps not remember being part of such a special day, there was no doubt that he was the most important witness to the events of the day. As people shimmied and boogied around him, pulling startling and inexplicable shapes, and as his parents lavished kisses on him beneath beaming smiles, it was clear to see that Devon himself was the living testament to Naomi & Graham’s love.

  • Wedding Report: Naomi & Graham, Part Two

    20 Feb 2013

“She is my best friend,” he said simply. “I love every second we spend together, whether we’re relaxing together at home, out making memories with Devon, whatever it is it’s always special.”

  • Wedding Report: Naomi & Graham, Part One

    18 Feb 2013

They say that the sun always shines on the righteous. Naomi and Graham stood at the altar in St Audries Park Orangery, shrouded in the dazzling sunbeams pouring through the glass canopy above their heads. Their son, the picture of an angelic cherub with golden hair and an enchanting smile, watched over the proceedings from his throne in the corner of the room as his parents promised, with tears in their eyes and love in their hearts, to make the safest family for him that they could.

  • Wedding Report: Clare & Gary, Part Five

    01 Feb 2013

It was an evening of jubilation, triumph and relief that facilitated the kind of moments that every day life doesn’t afford, in which oaths of love and adoration were earnestly uttered. From Gary’s first glimpse of his new wife in her beautiful dress to the last farewell of the evening, every moment had contributed to excelling Clare and Gary’s expectation of their wedding and every tiny moment would be the first of many building blocks in the rest of their marriage.

  • Wedding Report: Clare & Gary, Part Four

    31 Jan 2013

“At the time I was madly in love with Clare,” explained Gary, reminiscing on how he had sweated profusely through their date to see ‘Legends of the Fall.’ He went on to recount how they had reconnected many years later after his adolescent attempts to woo her had failed.

  • Wedding Report: Clare & Gary, Part Three

    30 Jan 2013

The sun continued to beat down upon the garden, bouncing off the cream washed walls of the ancient manor house. Four generations of Joneses inflated the level of conversation whilst groups of men stood around chatting and people compared pictures they’d taken on the backs of their cameras.

  • Wedding Report: Clare & Gary, Part Two

    29 Jan 2013

The solemn words they uttered as they exchanged rings could not temper their smiles, which seemed to grow incrementally as they attested to the sign of their marriage that their rings represented and promised to honour each other with their bodies, give all that they were to one another and share all that they had.

About*

The Wedding Reporter was a unique idea conceived in the early spring of 2011. The way it works is essentially that I'm a professional wedding guest, soaking up the ambience, the atmosphere and the details of the day in order to go away and transcribe it all into a literary creative non-fiction account of the day.
