Miss Bush Bridal at the The Talbot Inn Wedding Showcase
02 Nov 2012Because this is what Miss Bush are the very best at: tempting brides’ imaginations to believe that their wedding can be whatever they want to. Yes, there were bi-hourly fashion shows in which Jenny Packham’s most dazzling and devastating creations were paraded before a small pack of avid onlookers, but these would have been redundant without the context of setting.

Nonsuch Mansion Wedding Fair
25 Jun 2012I watched weary grooms trudge behind excited brides on a Sunday morning as overexcited toddlers tore around vast rooms on the sugar rush of a small cake sample. I met probably hundreds of lovely couples, all waiting to be wowed and sometimes a little scared of being pounced on.

Miss Bush Bridal’s Postcard From New York
21 May 2012Despite the evening being tailored to showcase a line of New York wedding and bridesmaid designs, even the guests arriving in Ripley exuded a hightened sense of style in boyish blazers, killer heels and statement jewellery.

Muddifords Court Country House: Open for weddings, conferences & a helluva good time!
04 May 2012As you turn off the narrow country lane and pull through the wrought iron gates of Muddifords Court Country House, you feel a little like you’re coming home. There is something incredibly inviting about Muddifords, even before you venture inside and yearn to snuggle down in the 5* bed and breakfast.

10 Feb 2012Sporting millinery marvels, Mary and Kate happily greet the influx of wedding industry professionals to the launch of Reverie, their new transatlantic, stylish and dreamy online magazine. The girl looks nervously around, wondering what she's done to be invited amongst so many wedding big-wigs.

The Mews Clifton ~ Launch Event
04 Nov 2011Beneath the twinkle of chandeliers and the soft glow of candlelight, dozens of dresses seemed to dance on their rails, commanding attention, catching the eye and flirting outrageously with hoards of reverent bystanders. Arched bays between ornate plaster mouldings presented handfuls of gowns on gently curving rails. The pristine paleness of the dresses created crisp outlines as they stood proudly in front of a backdrop of intricately decorated wallpaper. Slips of silk, wisps of chiffon, waterfalls of lace and puddles of satin all swung side-by-side, enveloping guests into an atmosphere of divine decadence. Big belts cinched in waves of sumptuous fabric whilst sequins and crystals dripped seductively in the late evening light.

VOWS Wedding Event ~ 11th October
28 Oct 2011It was with a healthy dose of excitement (and a smidge of trepidation) that I accompanied Laura Caudery of Fetcham Park to a brand new bridal event called VOWS earlier this month. Billed as a strictly non-selling event, VOWS was intended to be "more an opportunity for brides and couples to meet some of the country's top wedding experts, chat informally and receive exclusive advice and hints." Organised by Chelsea Bidwell and Sarah Ducker, and set against the backdrop of opulent Knightsbridge luxury, the visualisation of their wedding secrets certainly appealed to brides with large rocks on their fingers.

Isabella Grace Launch Party
19 Sep 2011Everybody knows that the journey to the altar is a long one. For most newly betrothed women the first part of the road leads them breathlessly to the doors of a glossy wonderland of imagination's finest creation. I was kindly invited to the launch of one such emporium of loveliness at the beginning of September. It coincided nicely with our first wedding anniversary, so the wingman and I packed up our wagon and headed off for a weekend in the garden of England and rounded it off with sumptuous dresses and desserts at Isabella Grace.

Love My Dress Summer Soiree
16 Aug 2011"I was so nervous about tonight," she said breathlessly, hands planted on my shoulders. "And I'm so nervous about what you're going to write! Please write something nice about it!" "No," I replied childishly. "Shan't. It's been rubbish and everyone hated it, so I've got nothing good to say whatsoever."
