It’s not just a job
12 Apr 2013Your wedding report lives in my brain for the weeks afterwards in which I'm writing it and often beyond the point at which it's delivered to you, so I suppose it makes sense that my little brain has to give it a sufficient build-up beforehand in order to make sure I make the very most of the time I have with you.

A proposal in 7 easy steps
03 Sep 2012A week later we picked up the finished, re-sized ring. We sat on the sofa and he handed me the little white and maroon box. I shouted "No!" and "Do it properly!" and he said "Really?" and "Do I have to?" I kicked him and he slid halfway off the couch so that his left knee touched the carpet. He heaved a sigh, opened the box, showed me its contents and in the most embarrassed mutter of all time managed to grind out the words, "Will you marry me?" with ruby flushed cheeks.

The Wedding Curiosity
06 Aug 2012I am the girl who arrives at a wedding by herself, undaunted, smiling at strangers in the knowledge that they will think we are long lost friends by the end of the night. I am the person who small children eye suspiciously whilst old ladies tilt their hats to talk about me without me noticing, unaware that my job is to notice everything.

Baby, I love you…
11 Jun 2012I have witnessed a lot of love and happiness, a hint of sadness and remorse and a hurricane of laughter. But through it all, I have fallen in love with these couples, with their families and friends who have been nothing but beautiful and wonderful.
