I’m apprehensive and my palms are already sweating. I don’t know what to say, how to hook them in or sell myself. I’m worried about appearing too casual, too animated, too amateur and too scared.

I’m excited and find myself smiling when I think of it. I can’t wait to tell people what I do, how I do it and why I do it. I’m looking forward to being surrounded by other like-minded wedding suppliers who are all as passionate about creating memories as I am.

This Sunday, I shall be taking a stall at A Brides Affair and letting the betrothed masses of Somerset get to know all about The Wedding Reporter. As a new business and a wedding fayre virgin I am of course nervous about my display and my manners, but I am also thrilled to be exhibiting.

Organised by Marry Me In Somerset and taking place at Combe House between 10am and 3pm, A Brides Affair promises to be a more intimate showcase of the local wedding industry. When planning my own wedding I was disheartened by the impersonal, pushy and corporate wedding fayres that I attended so I jumped at the opportunity to be involved with something a little more friendly and personal.

I’m looking forward to meeting many couples that are beginning their planning process and learning all about their ideas for the big day as well as their own stories. If you’re not too far away please do come and visit – it’ll be an indulgently lovely way to spend a Sunday!
