I know it’s bad form to begin with an apology, but I feel a little like this has been cobbled together under a tonne of unprecedented interest, so please do bear with me, things will get better! Essentially, I am launching this service in order to quench my insatiable thirst for writing about weddings. The twist with this is that I want to write about your wedding on your behalf, so that you have your memories to keep forever in literary form.

What is it?

The Wedding Reporter is a truly bespoke service offering the opportunity for a personalised literary account of your whole wedding day to savour as a unique keepsake. The report can be as flexible as you like, covering just certain elements of your wedding or a blow-by-blow description of the whole day. Your Wedding Report can be incorporated with professional images from your photographer or presented in a beautifully bound booklet, which would be a great gift for friends and relatives.

Alternatively, if you want to publish your wedding but don’t feel confident about writing your own article, you can request an electronic report to submit for features in national magazines and blogs once the confetti has settled on your big day.

Who is it for?

Initially, The Wedding Reporter is aimed at brides and grooms who want to capture their wedding in more than just images. The primary function of The Wedding Reporter is to rove the country, soaking up the atmosphere at weddings and putting into words all those emotions, details and stories that make up any wedding.

As well as creating a unique memento for newlywed couples, The Wedding Reporter is more than happy to collaborate with other wedding professionals. I am keen to work with venues to offer in-house reports to couples, as well as with photographers to create stunning mixed-media story books as an added extra to their services.

The Wedding Reporter will happily tour the country on behalf of blogs and magazines to create quality editorial content at the behest of brides, grooms and editors. I’m happy to work with creative professionals who want to publish up-to-date content on their business’ blogs but would rather outsource the writing of such content. I can write about anything from wedding fayres you’re displaying at to weddings you’ve worked on.

How does it work?

The Wedding Reporter will discuss all requests for commissions before accepting assignments to make sure the client can get exactly what they need. Depending on your criteria, The Wedding Reporter can be present from the preparations to the last dance, chatting to your guests, taking in your day and getting to know who you are and what your wedding is about.

Essentially, all you have to provide is a seat and some good material to write about! As long as you have made provisions with your venue for an extra attendee, then I can remain as stealthy or as involved in your day as you’d like.

After the wedding, a first draft will be sent to the client before finalising the Wedding Report, to make sure there’s nothing missing or anything you’d prefer to be edited out. The Wedding Reporter will aim to get the finished article into your mailbox within 2 weeks, depending on your requirements.

As with all elements of the Wedding Report, the final product can be whatever you would prefer. All presentation stock used by The Wedding Reporter is of the highest quality, or alternatively your Wedding Report can be sent to your photographer for combination into albums (in this instance it is imperative that the photographer is informed of this prior to the wedding).

Why use The Wedding Reporter?

After 2 years hands-on experience of the wedding industry, a successful wedding blog and a penchant for all things matrimonial since my own big day, I adore putting into words all the emotions and memories that are generated from weddings.

With a background in theatrical writing and formal training in fiction & creative writing, my love of weddings comes second perhaps only to my love of words. I think that literature can be a powerful and moving interpretation of events and as such I am intrepid about creating evocative written memories of quite possibly the most exciting, chaotic, emotional and beautiful event in any couple’s lives.
